A Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is a mechanical device that consists of a cylindrical shell containing a bundle of metal tubes. One fluid flows inside the tubes (tube side), while the other flows outside the tubes within the shell (shell side). As the fluids pass through their respective paths, heat transfers from the hot fluid to the cold one through the tube walls.
